What happens next?

Before January 2024

Camp is still a ways away! For the remainder of 2023 and into January, there’s generally not a lot you need to act on. Keep us informed of any changes that may happen with your schedule, send us fun ideas, and let us know if you have any questions.

Help us recruit staff! We also get wonderful staff members who are recommended by friends. If you have someone who you think would be a good fit for Green River Preserve, you can send them our way. If they end up working for us, we’ll send you a $100 thank-you check.

Send us your bio and photo. We want to share that you will be joining us this summer with the GRP community. You can find out how to submit you staff bio and photo under the forms section in your CampInTouch account.

January -March 2024

We start to send the first pieces of paperwork to all staff.

The first item will be your contract. This will typically look like an email sent to you with details on how to access your contract digitally. We often mail out physical copies as well. This can be a slow and careful process, so don’t expect to see everything immediately.

While you’re waiting for your contract, you can also begin to work on the list of things we’ll need from you before you arrive at camp. You can find a guide to that information at the link to the left.

This is the time when we hire the most staff members. We hire nearly 100 amazing people each year! If you have just accepted your job offer, it may take up to a month to receive your contract. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen it for a while, even a month or more. You are always welcome to email us to check in.

April 2024

Deadline ALERT:

Please have your contract signed and your Background Check form complete by April 1.

The majority of staff will have received contracts by April. Let us know if you haven’t seen yours yet!

Camp is still months away, but it can help your stress level later to start working on paperwork.

If you are interested in becoming a Lifeguard, now would be a good time to start planning your training! Email catherine@greenriverpreserve.org and we can talk about helping pay for it.

It is also worth thinking about your travel to camp. Will you be booking a flight? Carpooling with another staff member? Hiking the Appalachian Trail to get here? (It’s happened before.)

May 2024

Deadline ALERT:

Please have your your paperwork completed by
May 1.

Camp is now getting so close! It’s time to finish your paperwork, finalize your travel to camp, and — believe it or not — start packing!

If you are JUST NOW signing on for the summer, never fear! Work efficiently to get your paperwork done and travel arranged, but we won’t penalize you at all if you aren’t able to meet our paperwork deadlines.

Below are links to our packing guide and information about traveling to GRP. Pay close attention to that one, especially if you are flying here!
