Return Staff Paperwork Guide

Here are the steps you’ll need to take to finalize your employment this year. We need these forms to get you paid, keep you safe and healthy, and make sure we’ve got the latest intel on your skills and preferences.

Thank you for completing these promptly and thoroughly.

1. Sign your Offer Letter

The first step is to review and sign your offer letter. This tells us that we officially get to work together this summer! It describes the dates we’re expecting you, your salary, staff training stipend, and other benefits.

To view and sign your offer letter, please sign into your CampInTouch account that you created when you submitted an application. From there, you’ll click on the yellow Forms & Documents tab at the top, then scroll to find the Offer Letterlink among the list of forms.

Questions? Email Catherine at catherine@greenriverpreserve.org.

2. Schedule a Physician’s Exam

Because our work is highly active and takes place in the backcountry, all staff are required to have a physician’s exam within one year of their first day this season.

You’ll likely need to get a new one, but you are fine if, say, you got it during staff training last year.

When you visit the doctor, please print out the Physician’s Exam form and bring it with you for the doctor to sign. Click the link below to download the form. You can upload the completed form to your CampInTouch account.

3. Complete & Return Paper Forms

Soon after we receive your contract, we will physically mail you a packet of what we call “payroll documents.” These are the ones that get you paid! They are brief and shouldn’t require much effort. (You may have questions on how exactly to fill them out — that’s normal. More info below.)

Get them out of the way as soon as you can, then mail them back in the pre-addressed, pre-stamped envelope we’ll include. To make your printing life easier, we’ll also throw in the Physician’s Exam form too.

4. Email Photos of Certifications

Lifeguards and WFRs receive a $15/wk pay raise.

If you are newly certified in something relevant to your job this summer, (lifeguard, WFR, CPR, etc), please also send us a photo or copy of your certification.

Please email all photos to Catherine at catherine@greenriverpreserve.org.

5. Complete Online Forms

The last set of forms we need is on your CampInTouch account. Most of these forms will be quick and easy. A few require making some decisions and finding some information, and I’ll note that in the description.

Staff Covenant: This is a community agreement that you just need to read and sign. Basically, be nice and don’t drink/do drugs.

Health History (Update): This info is vital so our medical staff can be prepared to help you. Most of this you should know off the top of your head. Don’t worry about tracking down all of your immunizations — we just recommend you have an updated tetanus shot.

Permission to Treat: A legal form that gives us permission to give you medical care.

Mental Health Support (Update): We are a supportive and caring community. Camp is also an intense experience! Fill this out to give us an idea where you are with your mental health and how we can best support you this summer.

Vehicle & Travel: This requires making a decision. How are you going to get here? If you are flying, you’ll need to buy your ticket and input your flight info. More on flying here.

If you’re driving, you’ll need to find your driver’s license number and your license plate number.

Staff Bio (Update): This is a fun one! We will post a photo of you and a short bio on our website. This form has some more details on how to write a good one. We also need a decent horizontal photo! Upload it to the link in the form.

Activity Preferences (Update): Click through this short form to give us an idea of what you’d like to teach, learn, or experience during staff training. There are no long-term commitments here, so don’t fret.

Staff Information Form: Finally, a string of miscellaneous questions that don’t deserve their own form. The most important piece of this form is letting us know whether you are planning to get CPR/First Aid certified before camp or during staff training.

6. GET CPR Certified (Lasts 2 years)

You are almost almost done! If you’re not Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certified (2-year certification), you’ll need to become certified before camp. You’re welcome to do this on your own, but you can also take it through us. We’ll deduct a small portion of the cost from your paycheck ($20-30) and cover the rest.

If you took the course last staff training, you’re fine. If you took it two summers ago, I am afraid you’ll have to get re-certified.

Our CPR/First Aid course has two parts. First, you’ll complete an almost-fun online course through the American Red Cross.

Do the online portion before camp!
You will not have time once you’re here.

The second part is a skills workshop that we’ll do during training — just show up to training as normal and we’ll guide you from there.

Once you’ve completed the online portion, you should receive an email confirmation. Please forward your confirmation to Catherine at catherine@greenriverpreserve.org.

Congratulations! You are all done with the forms and paperwork. Now the real adventures can begin!
