Your Salary & Benefits

Paying you is what we want to do! Our pay is based on position, experience, and certifications relevant to your job.

Virtually all employees receive room and board, access to laundry services, and meals during camp programs as benefits (approximately an additional $275-$300/week). In addition, we offer a GRP sponsored WFA course the weekend prior to staff training. We do not offer travel stipends for staff who choose to commute into camp.

Here are some basic starting salary guidelines. We raise pay based on returning status, experience, certifications, or additional responsibilities.

Mentors: $400 per week

Counselors: $300 per week

Expedition Leaders: $450 per week

Kitchen Assistants: $300 per week / $15 per hour

SEE Support Staff: $350 per week

Full-time Intern (program, expedition, etc.): $350 per week

Activity Leaders: Staff will receive an additional $25 per week for activities requiring extra time and prep work. For example: fly fishing, arts and crafts, and climbing.

Certifications

At a minimum all counselors must be CPR and FA certified, Mentors must have Wilderness First Aid, and Expedition Leaders must have Wilderness First Responder. These certifications must be valid through August 2022. You do not need these certifications to apply, but you must have acquired them by the start date of May 30, 2023. GRP is offering a WFA course the weekend prior to training for staff needing to meet this requirement.

Staff can also increase their salary (+$15/week each) by attaining any of these additional certifications. Click the buttons below to find out more.

Pay Dates & Amounts

You earn your salary on a weekly basis. However, our payroll company deposits your paycheck on the 15th of each month.

It’s a little more complicated, too. Your paycheck never includes the week immediately prior. That means your paycheck will always be one week off.

If we don’t have all the forms from above completed a week in advance of your first payday, you will miss it. Gimme those forms!
