Your Salary & Benefits

Paying you is what we want to do! Our pay is based on position, experience, and certifications relevant to your job.

Virtually all employees receive room and board, access to laundry services, and meals during camp programs (valued at approximately an additional $275-$300/week). For some positions, we offer financial support for folks pursuing certifications specifically for their work at GRP - in some cases, we host the training at camp! We are not able to offer travel stipends.

Here are some basic starting salary guidelines for program staff. (For support staff, please be in touch with Executive Director, Catherine Schenck.)

Counselors: $350 per week

Interns (Summer Camp & Expeditions): $350 per week

Expedition Leaders: $450 per week

Coordinators: $450 per week + one high-level certification

Mentors: $500 per week

Activity Leaders: Counselors will receive additional pay per week for leading activities in addition to other duties, ranging from $15-$50 depending on workload and risk management.

Certifications

At a minimum, all Counselors & SEE Support Staff must be CPR/Basic First Aid certified & Epinephrine Injection trained, while Mentors, Expedition Leaders, and SEE Hike Leaders must have Wilderness First Aid, though Wilderness First Responder is preferred for Exp Leaders. These certifications must be valid through your contract end date. You do not need these certifications to apply, but you must have acquired them by your work start date.

GRP provides CPR & First Aid & Epinephrine Injection training during summer All-Staff training.
